Hi all!
This is The Weekly Cue from a medical student for the curious and eager to learn. A newsletter with resources from the world of medicine, thinking, learning and success that resonated with me.
Enjoy!
Martin

P.S. Do you know someone, who would enjoy this newsletter? Would you mind forwarding them this email? They can check my previous issues and consider subscribing. Thanks!

I came across a great (and fun) episode of The Tim Ferriss Show just this morning…which ended up provoking me into changing this issue. Peter Attia is a doctor focusing on improving longevity and he focuses on many interesting things in his work. This is how much I will say…the rest is left for you to listen.

Polymaths are people successful in multiple fields. They may be more frequent than you imagine. A lot of Nobel prize winners are into music or acting. Albert Einstein played the violin while solving physics problems. This article explores a few perspectives on being a polymath.
This great piece from Nature explains how new genes are built from scratch. These are the so called de novo genes. “Although [they] remain enigmatic, their existence makes one thing clear: evolution can readily make something from nothing.”
I found this one when cleaning my Pocket list of saved articles. I stumbled upon a great deal of articles I saved a while ago that are really interesting…coming up in future issues. But anyway, this one originally inspired me to turn off all of the notifications on my phone. And let’s just say I never looked back.
